Welcome to the Main Street Program for Hertford, NC!

Historic Hertford, Inc., formerly known as the Hertford Main Street Program, is an ongoing, active organization whose purpose is the revitalization of our historic downtown.

We would very much like to have you participate in the welfare of downtown Historic Hertford. Perhaps you have observed some of the achievements we have administered: the recent street lamps with their hanging flower baskets, the brick aprons along the sidewalks, the plaza on the corner of Church and Market Streets with the new bike rack, the stop arm traffic lights on Church Street at the corners of Market and Grubb Streets, the new benches with coordinated trash receptacles, the refurbish-ment of Missing Mill Park, the Gateway Signs to Hertford, the new street signs in the downtown historic district, the changed zoning to increase the downtown business district and assistance with promotional pieces about Hertford for UNC-TV.
